About the Role

We are looking for a motivated and organised individual to support our management team over the summer holidays. This is a varied and hands-on role that combines administrative support with leadership on several forward-thinking projects aimed at improving patient experience and streamlining practice operations to ensure we continue to deliver high quality care.

What We Are Looking For

  • Recent graduate or current university student (e.g. healthcare, life sciences, business, project management, computer science or IT)
  • Proactive, detail-oriented and self-motivated
  • Comfortable with technology and learning new systems
  • Interest in healthcare innovation and general practice operations
  • Able to work collaboratively in a team environment

Main Duties of the Job

  • HR Systems: Lead an initial requirements scoping exercise to understand organisational needs in relation to HR systems; research and evaluate available solutions and present clear options and a recommended preferred approach to Practice Management.
  • Infection Prevention and Control: Review and update existing infection control processes, ensuring current practices are accurately reflected, evidence based, and aligned with organisational policy and regulatory requirements.
  • Organisational Policies Catalogue: Develop and maintain a comprehensive catalogue of all organisational policies, assessing their status, identifying those requiring review, and highlighting opportunities for consolidation. Work collaboratively across teams to refine existing processes, improve efficiency, and identify opportunities for automation and streamlined workflows.
  • AI in Primary Care: Research NHS-approved AI tools suitable for general practice. Assess their potential to reduce workload and prepare a report with recommendations.
  • Medical Records Summarising: With appropriate training, assist in the summarisation of new patient records in line with clinical system protocols.
  • Daily Practice Support: Assist the admin and management teams with the day-to-day running of the practice, including reception, data entry, and patient liaison tasks.

About Us

Kennet and Avon Medical Partnership is a larger than average general practice with 17,500 patients, serving the market town of Marlborough, Pewsey village and their surrounding rural environs in beautiful North East Wiltshire. The successful candidate for this role will have the opportunity to work with a fantastic team – we are friendly, approachable and helpful.

The successful candidate will be educated to at least A level standard and will be a graduate or undergraduate.
