Kennedys Healthcare division advises the NHS Resolution, NHS Trusts and medical malpractice insurers of private hospitals, clinics and practitioners on EL/PL and clinical negligence claims. The team advises on medical insurance coverage, health law advice, and regulatory matters and represents clients at inquests and judicial reviews. The team has a presence across our London, Cambridge, Birmingham and some of our global offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Review new NHS Resolution instructions (NHS Resolution's letter of instruction received via DTS/email and thorough check of CMS data/docs) to identify instruction type, key risk indicators and additional information which needs to be considered when allocating/acknowledging.
- Undertake conflict checks, searching K2/Kase in order to rule out any potential conflicts. If any conflicts arise, liaise with supervising partners/Risk and Compliance Team to investigate further.
- Review Visio allocation lists in order to allocate to appropriate lawyer and call lawyer to double check they can accept instruction.
- Complete Work Allocation Triage emails and provide any additional information to lawyers/Admin Team.
- Manage NHS Resolution New Instructions mailbox.
Required Experience
- Experience multitasking and prioritising workload.
- Team player – used to working as part of a team but also able to work alone.
- Organised and methodical with a keenness to learn and use new processes.
- Some experience of law/legal terminology might be advantageous, or previous experience within a similar role.
