We are looking for an Associate with 3+ years' PQE to join our growing Professional Liability practice in either Leeds or Newcastle. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong and commercially minded lawyer to develop their career within a collaborative and highly regarded team.
The Team
Kennedys' Professional Liability team acts for insurers, construction professionals, solicitors, brokers, accountants and other professionals across a wide range of complex disputes and claims. The team is recognised for its market-leading expertise and strong client relationships; handling matters of significant value and technical complexity.
The Role
You will work closely with partners and senior lawyers on a varied caseload of professional indemnity matters, with a particular focus on construction-related claims. The role will involve:
- Managing a caseload of professional indemnity claims from inception to resolution
- Advising insurers and insured professionals on coverage and liability issues
- Handling claims involving construction professionals including architects, engineers, surveyors and design consultants
- Drafting pleadings, witness statements and technical advice
- Supporting business development initiatives and client relationship management
- Collaborating with colleagues across the wider insurance and liability practices
About You
We are interested in hearing from candidates who:
- Are qualified solicitors with 3+ years' PQE
- Have experience in professional indemnity, insurance litigation or complex commercial disputes
- Ideally have exposure to construction-related professional liability matters
- Possess strong technical and analytical skills
- Are confident communicators with a commercial and client-focused approach
