Associate in Manchester

Kennedys is seeking an Associate (2+ years\’ PQE) to join our Employment team. The successful candidate will work on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters for UK and international clients. This role offers exposure to high-quality work, direct client contact, and the opportunity to develop within a market-leading practice. This position is available in our London, Manchester and Birmingham Offices.

Key Responsibilities

Advising employer clients on a wide variety of employment law issues.

Managing Employment Tribunal litigation, including drafting pleadings, handling case management, and preparing matters for hearing.

Assisting senior lawyers with complex advisory work, including discrimination, TUPE, reorganisations, and employee relations.

Drafting contracts, settlement agreements, policies and other employment documentation.

Providing clear, practical and commercially focused advice to clients.

Supporting business development initiatives within the Employment team.

Required experience

Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 2 years\’ post-qualification experience in employment law.

Strong experience in contentious matters; advocacy experience is desirable but not essential.

Excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills.

Ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines.

Strong client-handling skills and a proactive, team-focused approach.
