Kennedys is looking for a Junior Associate (0-3 PQE) or experienced Paralegal to join our Disease team in Edinburgh. This is an exciting opportunity to join our highly regarded Scotland Team which is located in our Edinburgh or Glasgow offices.
Our Celtic teams, based in Glasgow and Edinburgh, are recognised for their technical excellence, collaborative culture, and commitment to delivering practical and commercial solutions for our clients. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated fee earner, looking to develop their career in defender insurance litigation, working alongside market-leading specialists in occupational disease claims.
Key Responsibilities- Managing a varied caseload of defender disease claims, including NIHL, HAVS, asbestos-related, and other long-tail disease matters.
- Supporting senior lawyers in handling complex and high-value litigation.
- Drafting pleadings, witness statements, and instructions to counsel and experts.
- Conducting legal research and analysis on technical issues.
- Liaising with clients, witnesses, and opposing parties in a professional and timely manner.
- Assisting with business development initiatives and contributing to team knowledge sharing.
- Experience in defender disease or personal injury litigation.
- Previous experience acting for insurers or corporate defenders is essential.
- Strong analytical and communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
- A proactive and collaborative team player with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Enthusiasm for developing expertise in occupational disease claims within a supportive and growing team.
