Overview
A London based Bank who offer Hybrid working and excellent benefits currently seek an experienced Shipping Finance professional at either Assistant Manager/Senior Officer level to join a growing Ship Finance team supporting clients across the EMEA region.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the origination, execution, and management of shipping finance transactions, while helping to build and expand the team’s presence EMEA.
Key Responsibilities
- Originate and assess new ship finance opportunities, including client engagement, pitching, and securing mandates.
- Analyse deal terms, evaluate credit risks and mitigants, and prepare internal approval materials.
- Support deal execution, including financial modelling, reviewing loan documentation, and ensuring proper incorporation of security and risk controls.
- Manage ongoing portfolio monitoring, including annual reviews, compliance checks, and problem loan management.
- Contribute to client relationship management and develop long-term strategies with existing and target clients.
- Build strong networks across the shipping and ship finance sectors.
- Assist with departmental projects and wider business initiatives.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a front-office ship finance role
- Exposure to complex, high-value transactions in the global shipping industry.
- Strong knowledge of shipping markets with an established network of ship owners, operators, and arrangers.
- Proven credit analysis and financial modelling skills (cashflow-based analysis desirable).
- Experience with loan documentation and transaction execution.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders.
