KennedyPearce are hiring a Royalties Auditor to join a growing team responsible for ensuring royalty compliance across a portfolio of well-known international brands. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting or audit professional to take ownership of royalty audits from planning through to completion, working closely with internal teams, clients and licensees to identify discrepancies, ensure contractual compliance and maximise royalty revenues.

The successful candidate will be confident managing audits independently, producing clear and accurate reports, and building strong working relationships with stakeholders across the UK and internationally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end royalty audit process, from planning and execution through to reporting and resolution.
  • Follow established audit procedures to conduct licensee audits and ensure compliance with contractual terms.
  • Develop and manage audit plans tailored to individual clients and brands.
  • Independently oversee audits across a diverse portfolio of major brands.
  • Analyse royalty statements, financial records and supporting documentation to identify discrepancies, underpayments and potential areas of non-compliance.
  • Prepare clear, comprehensive audit reports outlining findings, recommendations and financial implications.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, clients and licensees to resolve audit findings and support the settlement process.
  • Liaise with legal, contract administration and royalty management teams to understand contractual obligations and their implications for audit outcomes.
  • Coordinate with UK and international stakeholders to identify, schedule and carry out audits.
  • Maintain accurate audit documentation and ensure all work is completed in line with established procedures and deadlines.

Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in audit, financial accounting, royalty auditing or a similar financial compliance role.
  • ACA, ACCA or an equivalent professional qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to review financial information and identify discrepancies.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • The ability to manage audits independently and take ownership of the full audit lifecycle.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present findings clearly.
  • Confidence working with multiple stakeholders across different teams and locations.
  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
