Job Description
We are working with a large, established organisation looking to appoint an experienced Credit Control Manager to lead its multi-site Credit Control and Cash Allocation function.
Managing a team of 12 across London and Manchester, you will take ownership of group debt exposure, drive collections performance and ensure the team consistently delivers against its KPIs. This is a highly visible role involving regular interaction with senior finance leadership and operational stakeholders.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead, motivate and develop a team of Credit Controllers and Cash Allocation professionals
- Drive the collection of outstanding debt and improve aged-debt performance
- Allocate workloads and ensure consistent customer service across the function
- Oversee credit notes, write-offs and internal control procedures
- Manage complex escalations and negotiate settlements with difficult payers
- Liaise with solicitors and external debt collection agencies when required
- Produce regular debtor reporting and commentary for senior leadership and Board packs
- Support cash-flow forecasting by providing accurate collection projections
- Develop KPIs, performance metrics and quarterly team targets
- Own and improve Credit Control procedures and processes
- Identify opportunities to optimise Dynamics AX and other systems
The successful candidate will have proven experience managing a Credit Control team within a complex organisation, alongside strong stakeholder management, reporting and process-improvement skills. You will be confident dealing with senior leaders, external agencies and challenging debtors.
Regular travel to the Manchester office will be required.
