A well-established, growing organisation is seeking a Head of Financial Reporting to join its finance leadership team in Derby. This is a replacement role, reporting directly to the Finance Director, offering a blend of technical financial reporting responsibility and people leadership within a dynamic and collaborative environment.
The Role
- Take ownership of all internal and external financial reporting.
- Lead the statutory accounts and audit process.
- Oversee debt compliance activities.
- Manage a capable financial accounts team while working closely with senior stakeholders across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead statutory accounts preparation and external audit process.
- Maintain strong working relationships with external auditors.
- Manage debt compliance and covenant reporting.
- Support the Finance Director with wider finance activities.
- Line manage and develop the financial accounts team (3 direct reports).
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to ensure reporting meets all requirements.
About You
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent).
- Strong financial reporting experience within a large corporate environment.
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS and statutory reporting.
- Proven experience managing audits and engaging with external auditors.
- Confident people manager balancing leadership and hands-on delivery.
Desirable:
- Experience in asset-heavy or complex corporate environments.
- Exposure to debt compliance and covenant reporting.
- Experience working with tax advisers.
