Role Overview: Finance Director
A leadership role has opened up within the global Finance function of a prominent international investment firm. This newly created Finance Director position will oversee core financial operations including monthly and annual closings, audit management, regulatory compliance, and tax affairs across multiple jurisdictions. The role includes oversight of a high-performing team and will serve as a key contributor to financial strategy during a period of significant operational evolution.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this is a pivotal role with high visibility and the opportunity to influence decision-making across a fast-growing and complex global organization.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of financial reports
- Manage relationships with external auditors and coordinate statutory audit procedures across jurisdictions
- Oversee international and domestic tax functions, including filing obligations and payments in compliance with local laws
- Collaborate with transformation teams to streamline operational finance tasks and implement enhanced internal controls
- Review and optimize existing finance systems, ensuring effective and scalable financial operations
- Ensure timely and compliant submission of all statutory and regulatory returns that require finance team input
- Maintain adherence to internal information security protocols and escalate any risks appropriately
- Uphold all privacy and data protection standards in alignment with relevant regional legislation
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven track record in a senior finance role such as Finance Director, Head of Finance, or equivalent
- Strong understanding of financial services or professional services industries, including regulatory awareness
- Experience leading audits, overseeing tax matters, and implementing finance system upgrades
- Familiarity with enterprise financial tools (e.g., SAP) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
- Knowledge of US GAAP and tax systems is highly desirable
- Strategic thinker with the ability to manage both detailed operational issues and high-level planning
- Clear communicator with a collaborative leadership style and attention to detail
