We’re looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Fund Accountant to join a growing Finance team for an established real estate business based in London. You’ll play a key role in preparing and reviewing monthly financial reports, journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses in accordance with company accounting policies. This role is ideal for someone who brings a continuous improvement mindset, strong technical accounting knowledge, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
What You’ll Do
- Manage month-end close procedures for assigned accounts.
- Review journal entries and work papers to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Perform monthly variance analysis of financial statements.
- Support internal and external audit processes, including internal control walkthroughs.
General Ledger Accounting
- Analyze GL data for accurate revenue, expense, equity, and loan recognition.
- Record property acquisitions and review transaction details.
- Complete and review monthly bank reconciliations.
- Incorporate third-party data into reconciliations and journal entries.
- Prepare calculations and reporting packages for JV partners.
Operational Accounting Oversight
- Oversee third-party property managers in accounting functions.
- Rent and service charge calculations, tax, and insurance billing.
- Accruals, payments, and recoveries for insurance and property taxes.
- Review vendor invoice coding and support interdepartmental processes.
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on overdue balances.
- Supervise cash application to tenant ledgers.
- Analyze lease agreements for straight-line rent calculations.
- Support onboarding of acquisitions.
Other Responsibilities
- Provide backup support for other accounting areas.
- Identify and implement process improvements.
- Participate in special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CA or equivalent) or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong background in commercial real estate accounting.
- Solid understanding of financial statements and general accounting standards.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and takes ownership of work.
- Able to meet strict deadlines in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
