We are partnering with a high-performance, technology-driven financial services organisation operating in a mission-critical, low-tolerance environment. They are seeking a Lead AI Automation Engineer to take ownership of intelligent automation across core business workflows, embedding AI capabilities directly into production-grade RPA platforms. This is a long-term contract role with significant technical ownership, working closely with senior product, engineering, and operations stakeholders in a fast-paced, high-expectation setting. This role is 5 days onsite and best suited to candidates who thrive in collaborative, high-accountability environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and deploy AI-enabled automation solutions supporting critical business processes
- Embed LLM and AI services into UiPath automation pipelines using Python and cloud-native tooling
- Act as a technical lead across intelligent automation, influencing standards, architecture, and best practices
- Partner closely with product, engineering, QA, and operations teams on end-to-end delivery
- Support and enhance hyper-critical production automations with a focus on resilience and performance
- Hands-on experience implementing AI solutions using Gemini and/or OpenAI APIs
- Strong Google Cloud Platform (GCP) experience across compute, data, and AI services
- Experience building and maintaining Custom GPTs, AI agents, or equivalent LLM-based services
- Proven ability to integrate AI into automation workflows using Python, UiPath, and cloud-native services
- Intermediate Python proficiency for automation extensions, utilities, and API integrations
- Strong understanding of AI security risks, governance, and mitigation strategies

- SQL experience for reporting, automation, or workflow integration (nice to have)
- Experience working in Agile, product-oriented environments
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
