Job Description

Our client, a London based International Bank seek a Corporate Banking Credit Analyst

The portfolio consists of Aviation, Shipping and Project Finance, so experience of credit analysis in these sectors is preferred, however a corporate credit analyst will be considered

This will be a on-site role 5 days a week in the office

JOB FUNCTION

  • Completing counterparty credit reviews
  • Assessing credit risk
  • Manage the administration of the credit function
  • Supporting credit decision-making process

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare all applications, including spread sheeting if applicable, for new or increased credit limits for approval, or otherwise, by Credit Officer / General Manager / Credit Committee (as appropriate).
  • Discuss with appropriate staff all aspects of each item of credit exposure.
  • Monitor daily all obligor and country exposures to ensure that they are within credit policy and approval limits.
  • Manage the administration of the credit function.
  • Prepare all recommended pre-approved credit limits for annual review by the Risk Committee.
  • Keep under continuous review all pre-approved or other limits for appropriateness in the light of developments in the credit standing of all obligors.
  • Ensure that the correct credit limits are input into the appropriate operating system for monitoring.
  • Bring all credit excesses to the attention of the Credit Officer immediately.
  • Manage the Credit Monitoring and Watch List processes.
  • Review adequacy of loan loss provisions in light of current circumstances.
  • Provide the administration function of the Credit Committee
  • Manage the account opening process, verifying the accuracy of the information to be used, checking the regulated status of financial institutions or the incorporated status of companies to ensure the suitability of the customer.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Proven experience in Credit Analysis, preferably within a financial institution.
  • Aviation and ship project finance experience preferred. With the ability to analyse and assess credit risks specific to these sector.
  • Strong understanding of financial analysis, Credit structuring, and risk assessment methodologies.
  • Familiarity with credit policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Proficiency in using financial modeling tools and credit rating systems.
  • Korean Language Preferred
