Dynamic Organisations is seeking a Senior Finance Manager - Group Accounting to join their business on a permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work at the heart of a FTSE-listed business, leading group reporting and audit. The Senior Finance Manager will lead the team to ensure production of the monthly consolidated income statement, balance sheet and cash flow under IFRS.
Responsible for delivery of the Group close process and other statutory accounting and reporting requirements, overseeing the operations of the accounts payable and receivable teams. Act as the first point of contact for accounting queries.
Duties of the Senior Finance Manager include:
- Overall ownership of the consolidation process across the Group.
- Review and assistance with team of preparation of monthly consolidated income statement, balance sheet and cash flow under IFRS.
- Ownership of balance sheet reconciliation process across the UKI team, leading the Finance Managers/Business Partners in preparing effective balance sheet reconciliations and monitoring and reporting on completion.
- Manage the delivery of continual improvements across the consolidation and group reporting process, including leading ERP improvement projects and continual focus on establishing consistent and controlled reporting environment.
- Preparation of group reporting pack requirements and co-ordination of timely submissions from corporate teams.
- Overall management of the month end GL close process, including ensuring relevant Finance Managers/Business partners have completed key reconciliations, required journals have been posted, and results consolidate in an appropriate manner.
- Ownership of the month end process timetable. Whilst the deadlines are set by the FP&A team, this role will work to those deadlines and determine an effective strategy for meeting in the close period.
- Key relationship with external auditors for the half year and year end audit process.
- Supporting internal and external auditors, HMRC and other regulatory bodies.
- Representing the General ledger team on projects focused on performance improvement, including D365 and other systems.
- Statutory accounts preparation.
- Budgeting and forecasting.
- Manage and oversee the overall accounts payable and accounts receivable teams.
- Ensure smooth operation between the accounts payable, receivable and general ledger teams, and be the key point of contact for operational finance matters across the Group.
- Manage direct reports ensuring objectives are set, and that they are appropriately managing, developing and engaging their teams.
- Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors and advisors.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and regulatory requirements.
Requirements for the Senior Finance Manager - Group Reporting:
- ACA Qualified, ideally Top 4 or ACA who has audited listed organisations.
- Experience either in performing a similar role within a large UK listed or large private group, or strong understanding of audit standards and processes within similar organisations.
- Significant IFRS experience and practical application and communication of accounting and consolidation matters.
- Team leadership experience.
- High level of communication skills, and experience in delivering and communicating accounting and finance issues to a wide variety of stakeholders.
- Detailed working knowledge of a financial reporting function and controls requirements in a large organisation.
- Strong analytical skills including impact assessment.
