We are looking for a motivated and commercially minded Commercial Finance Analyst to join our team as a key floating resource across Finance and Projects. This is a broad, hands-on role providing analytical support, financial reconciliations, project tracking, business partnering, and ensuring financial information is accurate, timely, and decision-ready. You will act as a bridge between the Finance team and Project teams, supporting Opex reviews, procurement processes, schedules, and financial insights. This role is perfect for an ambitious analyst looking to broaden their commercial exposure and work with large data sets in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with monthly Opex reviews and commercial reporting packs.
- Work closely with the FP&A Director to review schedules, update trackers, and ensure accurate commentary.
- Support the development of financial models (not required to build from scratch but must understand structure and logic).
- Perform reconciliations across project and financial data sources.
- Act as a day-to-day contact for Project Managers and Analysts.
- Support project meetings by preparing financial updates, tracking actions, and following up on outstanding items.
- Provide clear explanations of variances, risks, and opportunities.
- Liaise with Procurement to ensure schedules are accurate, data is up to date, and processes are followed.
- Work with large data sets without losing sight of detail or accuracy.
- Maintain and improve Excel and Google Sheets based reporting tools.
- Support the adoption and reconciliation of new Power BI dashboards in the new year.
- Ensure data quality and integrity across multiple systems.
- Provide flexible support across Finance, Projects, and Procurement depending on business needs.
- Assist with process improvements and help streamline reporting timelines.
- Contribute to take-home tasks and internal exercises as required during onboarding.
What We’re Looking For:
- Part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA) or strong commercial finance background.
- Strong commercial mindset with a desire to grow in a broad finance role.
- Excellent Excel and Google Sheets skills.
- Good understanding of financial modelling principles.
- Experience with Power BI.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Confident communicator able to partner with non-finance teams.
