If you are a Cook with experience supervising a team, then we have an opportunity for you. Lynn Recruitment are working in connection with our public sector client to appoint a Cook Supervisor for the Newry area. This is a part-time, temporary opportunity consisting of 27.50 hours per week at an hourly rate of £9.16.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing canteen services and hospitality for staff and visitors. You will undertake general and specific cleaning duties and will have supervisory responsibility for staff.
Main Duties include:
- Responsible for all activities in a small kitchen including the preparation, cooking and serving of snacks, meals, refreshments etc.
- Skilled cooking activities connected with a full range of meals, including planning, preparation, costing of menus and portion control, promoting health food options and menu plans.
- Record keeping, ordering supplies, receipt and checking deliveries and maintaining stock records.
- Control of hygiene, health and safety in the kitchen.
- Provide direction and/or supervision of other employees.
- Cash handling to include receipt of monies, checking and reconciling monies received against till roll each day and submitting to Finance Department for inclusion in daily takings, and keeping appropriate records for all monies received.
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Hold a City and Guilds 706/2 or NVQ Level 3 in Hospitality and Catering, or equivalent qualification in catering.
- Minimum 1 years’ experience of cooking in a catering establishment such as schools canteen, factory canteen, hotel or restaurant.
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
- Minimum 6 months supervisory experience.
- Experience of planning, preparing and costing menus.
