ACCOUNTING TECHNICIAN FULL OR PART TIME We are a successful firm of Chartered Certified Accountants based in Newry, Northern Ireland. We are seeking a Qualified Accounting Technician or Experienced Bookkeeper with general practice experience to join our team. The successful applicant should be motivated and self-driven, they should have excellent people skills and the ability to prioritise and manage their time appropriately. Ideally the successful candidate should have 2 years experience in general practice. Key roles and responsibilities Maintain clients bookkeeping using accounting software mainly Sage. This would include inputting invoices and bank transactions and completion of bank reconciliations. Assisting with preparation of weekly and monthly payroll for clients, whilst ensuring compliance with RTI and Auto-enrolment. Preparation of VAT returns for clients using accounting software to comply with MTD requirements. Assistance with the preparation of annual accounts for sole traders, partnerships and companies. Assisting with preparation of construction industry returns. Preparation of MTD quarterly returns. Qualifications Accounting Technician qualified or part-qualified with suitable experience Essential Skills and Experience Previous experience in an accountancy practice or business environment Experience using Sage Payroll Experience Knowledge of Auto-enrolment requirements Knowledge of VAT Return preparation Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Remuneration The successful candidate will be rewarded with a competitive salary reflective of qualifications and experience.
