The Role

As Care Home Manager, you will take full operational responsibility for the day-to-day management of Redwood House. You will lead a dedicated team to ensure the highest standards of safety, wellbeing, and compliance in line with Care Inspectorate guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership: Provide strong day-to-day management of the home, promoting a positive, supportive culture for staff and residents.
  • Regulatory Excellence: Maintain full compliance with all Care Inspectorate requirements, Scottish legislation, and health and safety standards.
  • Team Development: Oversee staffing levels, recruitment, training, SSSC registrations, and performance management to build a high-performing team.
  • Financial Management: Manage budgets effectively, monitoring occupancy levels and resources to meet financial targets.
  • Stakeholder Relationships: Build strong, trusting partnerships with residents, relatives, social work departments, and healthcare professionals.

About You

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Registered Manager, Deputy Manager, or Senior Leader within a residential care setting.
  • Strong working knowledge of Scottish adult social care regulations and Care Inspectorate standards.
  • Registered (or eligible to register) with the SSSC.
  • A full, clean driving licence (beneficial for community/stakeholder engagement).
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills with a strongly collaborative approach.

Desirable:

  • SVQ Level 4 / Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or currently working towards it).
  • Experience managing a service with positive Care Inspectorate grades.
  • Strong knowledge of dementia care and complex elderly care needs.
