Are you an experienced Bid Writer? Do you have knowledge of the charity/third sector and previous experience of writing successful funding applications? If so, read on, as this could be the role for you. Kennedy Recruitment is delighted to be working with our client, who specialise in fundraising for charitable organisations, to recruit a Bid Writer to join their established team. This is a dynamic, forward thinking, creative employer, empowering people to realise their potential. This role offers the flexibility of a fully remote working schedule.
Reporting to the Senior Partner, the successful Bid Writer will coordinate and produce funding applications, bids, tenders or proposal documents for/and with a range of charitable clients. Producing necessary summary/scoping documents, you will also attend meetings with clients (remotely/in-person) to support creative thinking in developing funding ideas to meet bespoke needs.
To be considered for this position, applicants must have relevant experience in bid writing and fundraising within the third/not for profit sector and/or statutory sector.
Your Duties:
- Production and delivery of professionally produced funding applications within defined timeframes for our clients.
- Client management; demonstrating the ability to listen and be creative when developing funding ideas.
- Meet remotely (and very occasionally in person) and communicate with clients regularly; must be solution and results oriented.
- Ensure all written documentation follows expectations and procedures in line with guidance and funders specifications.
- Report to the Partner and team members on the status of those client relationships managed and funding applications executed as required.
Your Profile:
- Proven experience and knowledge of the charity/third sector in the English or Northern Irish markets.
- Previous experience of writing funding applications/bids and ideally tender.
- Experience in delivering proposal documents to charity leaders.
- Be able to demonstrate creative and innovative thinking and produce strategic/operational funding ideas/proposals.
Essential:
- Educated to degree level with a good understanding of Microsoft Office (particularly Word & Excel) and ideally experience of using Apple Hardware and Software.
- Have a track record of securing funds from Trusts, Foundations and ideally the statutory sector, with knowledge of how to construct a financial budget.
- Ability to listen and take on board constructive feedback.
- Be a good team player, working flexibly including unsocial hours to meet deadlines if necessary.
- Willing to travel on occasion to meet the team or clients when necessary.
- Possess good client facing skills including being a fixer, with the ability to multitask, being solution driven and being prepared to go the extra mile.
- Touch typing skills or ability to type at speed.
- Confident to express your views and to justify them.
Desirable:
- Full UK driving licence.
- Knowledge of philanthropic fundraising.
Also considered are candidates without a degree if they have substantial charity based, fundraising experience.
