Logistics Manager – Residential Development

Location: London Project: Residential Development – 250 Units Salary: Competitive, depending on experience Contract: Permanent

Kenna Recruitment are currently assisting a leading Main Contractor in their search for an experienced Logistics Manager to join the team on a major residential development comprising approximately 250 units in London.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Logistics Manager to take responsibility for the planning, coordination and day-to-day management of site logistics on a large-scale residential project.

The Role

As Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe movement of people, materials, plant and deliveries across the site.

You will work closely with the Project Manager, Site Management team, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure the project runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key responsibilities will include

  • Managing the overall site logistics strategy throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Planning and coordinating deliveries, access and egress to and from site.
  • Managing site logistics, including traffic management, hoarding, storage and welfare facilities.
  • Coordinating material movements and ensuring materials are available when required.
  • Managing delivery schedules and liaising with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean and organised site environment.
  • Coordinating lifting operations, plant movements and logistics activities.
  • Working closely with the Site Management team to identify and resolve logistical issues.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant Health & Safety requirements and site procedures.
  • Managing logistics operatives and coordinating relevant subcontractors.
  • Supporting the wider construction team with logistical planning and sequencing.
  • Maintaining accurate records and ensuring site logistics plans are kept up to date.

About You

The successful candidate will have

  • Proven experience working as a Logistics Manager on major construction projects.
  • Previous experience within residential construction would be highly advantageous.
  • Experience managing logistics on large-scale developments.
  • Strong knowledge of site logistics, delivery management and construction operations.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and work effectively under pressure.
  • A strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements within a construction environment.
  • A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Relevant construction qualifications, such as CSCS, SMSTS and First Aid, would be advantageous.
