This is a hands-on opportunity for a commercially minded QS to gain valuable experience on a complex, high-profile residential project, working closely with the on-site management and production teams. The initial role is expected to run for approximately two years, with the potential to explore further opportunities within the business as the project progresses. The Role Based primarily on site, you will support the commercial management of remedial works across a large residential development, helping to ensure works are delivered efficiently and in line with agreed budgets. Key responsibilities will include: * Assisting with the commercial management of residential remediation and refurbishment works. * Supporting the financial control of subcontractor packages, including procurement, valuations and payments. * Monitoring project costs, variations and expenditure against agreed budgets. * Reviewing subcontractor applications and assisting with cost reporting and forecasting. * Managing and tracking variations associated with unforeseen defects and remedial works. * Working closely with the site team, including the Site Manager, Design Coordinator and production staff. * Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure costs and progress are accurately recorded. * Supporting the management of remedial works relating to wet rot, dry rot and wider building defects. * Assisting with the commercial administration of works involving resident decants and the subsequent return of residents to their properties. * Reporting to and working alongside the Senior Quantity Surveyor, who will provide commercial support and oversight. About You We are keen to speak with both Assistant Quantity Surveyors and Quantity Surveyors who are looking to develop their commercial experience within residential construction. Ideally, you will have: * Experience working for a main contractor or residential developer. * Exposure to residential new-build, refurbishment, remediation or maintenance projects. * An understanding of subcontractor procurement, valuations, variations and cost control. * Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage commercial information accurately. * A proactive approach and the confidence to work within a site-based team. * The ability to work independently while knowing when to seek support from senior commercial colleagues.
