M&E Quantity Surveyor Central London | Fit Out & Refurbishment | £10m–£45m Projects We are working with a leading fit out and refurbishment main contractor who are looking to strengthen their commercial team with an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor. The business delivers high-value, technically complex fit out and refurbishment projects across Central London, typically ranging from £10m to £45m in value. They have an excellent reputation within the sector and a strong pipeline of upcoming projects. The Role As an M&E Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for the mechanical and electrical packages across major fit out and refurbishment projects. You will work closely with the project, commercial and procurement teams, as well as specialist M&E subcontractors, to ensure packages are commercially controlled and delivered successfully. Key responsibilities include: * Commercial management of M&E packages from procurement through to final account * Managing subcontractor accounts, payments, variations and valuations * Reviewing and negotiating subcontractor quotations and accounts * Cost reporting, forecasting and commercial reporting * Managing variations, change control and the commercial impact of design development * Supporting procurement and tendering of M&E packages * Reviewing and challenging costs to maximise value and protect project margins * Maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors, consultants and the wider project team * Assisting with final accounts and commercial close-out * Working collaboratively with the wider commercial and project management teams About You We are keen to speak with M&E Quantity Surveyors who have experience working for main contractors, ideally within the fit out, refurbishment or high-end commercial interiors sector. You will ideally have: * Strong M&E commercial / quantity surveying experience * Experience working on projects of £10m+ * Previous main contracting experience * A good understanding of mechanical and electrical subcontract packages * Strong subcontractor management and negotiation skills * Experience with variations, valuations, forecasting and final accounts * Excellent communication and commercial awareness * The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced Central London project environment This opportunity would suit an M&E QS looking to join an established contractor with a strong project pipeline and the opportunity to work on some of London's most prestigious fit out and refurbishment projects
