We are currently working with a forward-thinking construction and development company known for delivering high-quality projects across the commercial and residential sectors. They specialise in cut & carve projects around Central London. To support their continued growth plan they are looking to hire an Assistant Surveyor to join their commercial team to support the delivery of ongoing and upcoming projects.
Role Overview
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with the senior commercial team to ensure effective cost management across the project lifecycle. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their QS career within a supportive and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing cost estimates, budgets, and bills of quantities
- Support procurement activities, including subcontractor inquiries and comparisons
- Help manage project cost control, valuations, and variations
- Assist in preparing financial reports and cash flow forecasts
- Attend site visits and progress meetings
- Work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors
- Maintain accurate documentation and records
About You
- Degree (or working towards one) in Quantity Surveying or a related field
- 1–2 years’ experience in a similar role (placement year experience welcome)
- Strong numerical, analytical, and communication skills
- Good understanding of construction processes and commercial principles
- Proficient in MS Office; experience with QS software beneficial
- Motivated, organised, and eager to learn.
