Kenna Recruitment is working with a well-established UK main contractor specialising in commercial fit out projects across Central London. Due to a strong pipeline of work, they are looking to appoint a Design Coordinator / Assistant Design Manager to support the delivery of Cat A and Cat B fit out schemes. This is an excellent opportunity for someone currently working within a main contractor environment who is looking to develop their career within design management on high-quality commercial projects.

The Role

  • Supporting the Design Manager in the coordination of design packages on Cat A and Cat B commercial fit out projects
  • Managing and tracking the design process from pre-construction through delivery
  • Coordinating architects, consultants, subcontractors and internal teams
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications and technical submissions for compliance and buildability
  • Assisting with design meetings, RFIs, and technical queries
  • Supporting the delivery of projects to programme and budget

About You

  • Previous experience working for a UK main contractor (essential)
  • Experience on commercial fit out projects (Cat A and/or Cat B)
  • Background as a Design Coordinator, Assistant Design Manager or similar
  • Strong understanding of the design coordination process
  • Confident communicator able to work with consultants and site teams
  • Organised, detail-focused and commercially aware
