We are currently working with a Traditional New Build House Builder based in Surrey looking to hire a Buyer to work across multiple projects for them. The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing and procuring materials, plant, and subcontractor services to support the delivery of construction projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement of Materials & Plant: Source, negotiate, and purchase construction materials, equipment, and plant hire in line with project requirements. Manage supplier relationships to ensure continuity of supply and best value. Ensure all materials meet project specifications and are delivered to site on schedule.
- Subcontractor Procurement: Assist in the tendering and appointment of subcontractors. Evaluate quotations, negotiate terms and conditions, and prepare subcontract orders.
- Cost Management: Monitor procurement budgets and ensure cost-effective purchasing. Work closely with the Quantity Surveyor and Project Manager to control project costs.
- Supplier & Market Analysis: Identify new suppliers and maintain an approved supplier list. Keep abreast of market trends, material prices, and availability.
