We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Personal Injury Paralegal with at least 1 year of experience to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will assist attorneys in handling personal injury cases from inception to settlement or trial, ensuring the smooth progression of cases. This is an office-based role, requiring excellent organisational and communication skills to manage client relations, case documentation, and court filings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Case Management: Assist in managing personal injury cases, including motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls, medical malpractice, and other claims.
- Client Communication: Maintain regular contact with clients to gather information, provide case updates, and address any concerns or questions.
- Document Preparation: Draft legal documents such as demand letters, pleadings, discovery responses, motions, and settlement agreements.
- Medical Records: Request, review, and organise medical records, bills, and other related documents to support injury claims.
- Court Filings: File legal documents with courts and ensure compliance with court deadlines and procedures.
- Legal Research: Conduct research on relevant laws, regulations, and precedents to support case strategy.
- Calendaring: Maintain attorneys' calendars, scheduling client meetings, depositions, hearings, and court dates.
- Settlement Assistance: Assist with preparing settlement demands, negotiating with insurance companies, and following through on settlements.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a paralegal, preferably in personal injury law.
- Familiarity with personal injury legal processes, including litigation procedures and court systems.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Paralegal certification or equivalent legal education.
- Experience with case management software.
