This position is based in the Crime department and answers to our Head of Department. Our Head of Department is an internationally renowned criminal solicitor who has been practicing for a number of years. You will be located at our either Bradford or Manchester Office but may at times be required to travel to our other offices. This role is not a remote working role.
Responsibilities:
- Handle a caseload of criminal defence matters.
- Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and provide sound legal advice to clients.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, trials, and mediations.
- Collaborate with colleagues and external stakeholders to achieve favourable outcomes for clients.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of case progress and communications with clients.
Requirements:
- Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience in criminal defence. We would consider a paralegal with 1 year of experience.
- Our ideal candidate should also be police station accredited or someone who wishes to undertake this course.
- Strong knowledge of criminal procedure rules and relevant laws.
- Excellent analytical, research, and drafting skills.
- Proven track record of successfully handling a variety of crime cases.
- Exceptional communication and advocacy skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to providing exceptional client service and achieving positive results.
- Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new challenges in the legal field.
