The School

Kenilworth Multi Academy Trust has a vacancy for a full time Site Services Officer. The vacancy is based at Kenilworth School and Sixth Form. Kenilworth School and Sixth Form moved to one site on Glasshouse Lane, Kenilworth to a newly built, bespoke building in 2023.

The post holder will be based in the Facilities team and report to the Premises and Maintenance Manager and join a friendly and supportive team of Site Services Officers across the Trust.

The Role

The Facilities team work on a weekly shift pattern of 37 hours per week, comprising of alternating weekly shifts which are as follows:

  • Early shift: Monday and Friday - 7.15am to 4pm with one-hour unpaid lunch break and two 15 minute breaks. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday - 7am - 4pm with one-hour unpaid lunch break and two 15 minute breaks.
  • Late Shift: Monday to Thursday - 9am - 6pm with one-hour unpaid lunch break and two 15 minute breaks. Friday - 9am to 5.30pm with one-hour unpaid lunch break and two 15 minutes breaks.
  • Excluding during school holidays which will be Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm.

Typical daily duties include:

  • Locking and unlocking the school
  • Ensuring site is tidy and presentable for site users
  • Carry out minor repairs and building maintenance
  • Carry out routine fire alarm, call points checks, emergency light checks, water run offs and other routine premises tasks
  • Meeting contractors on site and co-ordinating their work
  • Minibus driving essential
  • General porter duties to include setting up exam tables, assemblies and other school events
  • Being a named key holder to respond to alarms outside of school hours

The successful applicant would be required to undertake a minibus driving MIDAS test. We are looking for an enthusiastic person who has an understanding of health and safety; a clean driving licence and is willing to work as part of a team, using their own initiative. The successful candidate must be willing to undertake First Aid at Work training. The successful candidate may be asked to undertake additional duties of closing and securing the site for school lettings, which take place outside of school hours including some weekends, for which there is additional pay. Full training will be given to the successful applicant.
