Role Overview
Maintaining safe, clean, and secure school premises, including managing building security (locking/unlocking), performing minor repairs, maintaining grounds, and overseeing heating, lighting, and safety systems.
Responsibilities
- Security & Access: Locking and unlocking buildings, managing alarms, and acting as a key holder for emergency call-outs.
- Maintenance & Repairs: Undertaking routine maintenance and minor repairs to fixtures and fittings, including lighting, plumbing, and painting.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Monitoring the site for hazards, conducting fire safety checks, and maintaining records for compliance with regulations like Legionella, asbestos, and COSHH.
- Grounds & Premises Maintenance: Ensuring clean and safe school grounds, including litter picking, clearing leaves, cleaning drains, and gritting pathways during winter.
- Porterage & Cleaning: Managing deliveries, moving furniture, setting up classrooms for events, and ensuring toilets are stocked with supplies.
- Contractor Management: Supervising external contractors working on-site.
