Role Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to support the operation, maintenance, and improvement of bag-making machinery. This role is ideal for an engineer with 2 years industry experience who is comfortable working on the shop floor and keen to develop their skills. The role is site-based in Tipton and offers a temp-to-perm opportunity.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate, set up, and support the running of bag-making machines
- Carry out routine, preventative, and reactive mechanical maintenance
- Assist with fault-finding and breakdown repairs
- Support mechanical projects, machine upgrades, and installations
- Work closely with production teams to ensure efficient daily operations
- Adhere to health & safety procedures at all times
- Complete basic maintenance records and documentation
Essential Experience & Skills
- Minimum 2 years industry experience in a mechanical or manufacturing environment
- Hands-on experience with machinery or production equipment
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems and components
- Willingness to operate machinery as well as maintain it
- Ability to follow mechanical drawings and instructions
- Practical problem-solving skills
Qualifications
- HND or BA/BEng (Honours) in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (preferred but not essential)
