Overview
Our client is seeking an experienced and proactive CNC Shop Supervisor to lead our precision machining department. This is a hands-on leadership role, combining high-level technical expertise in CNC setup and programming with responsibility for managing workflow, quality, and team performance. You will play a key role in ensuring efficient production while maintaining the highest standards of precision.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership & Programming
- Expert setup of multi-axis CNC lathes and mills
- Write, edit, and optimise CNC programs (online and offline)
- Oversee machine and tooling maintenance to minimise downtime
- Conduct self-inspection to ensure tight tolerances
- Ensure all components are deburred and finished to specification
- Organise production orders for efficient throughput
- Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
- Lead, mentor, and support a small team of operators
- Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed
Requirements
- Several years experience as a CNC Machinist (milling and turning)
- Confident setting and operating multi-axis machines
- Experience in 3D design and programming
- Experience using FANUC controllers
- Strong self-inspection skills using standard measuring equipment
- Knowledge of 5S, Continuous Improvement, and Kanban systems
- Strong leadership and communication skills
