Job Title: Delivery Driver’s Mate (Temp-to-Perm)
Location: Cribbs Causeway, Bristol
Pay Rate: £12.92 per hour (Overtime paid at time and a third)
Shift Pattern: 07:00-19:00, 4 on 4 off rota (Will include weekend working)
We are looking for polite, professional, and motivated Delivery Driver’s Mates to join our client’s team based in the Cribbs Causeway area of Bristol. This is a fantastic temp-to-perm opportunity with regular hours, offering excellent earning potential and enhanced overtime rates.
As a Driver’s Mate, you will be the face of the company, assisting the driver with home deliveries and providing top-tier customer service directly to people in their homes. This is a very active, hands‑on role where excellent communication and a helpful attitude are just as important as teamwork.
What a Day Looks Like
- Customer contact: Calling ahead to customers to provide accurate delivery time slots and updates.
- Home delivery: Assisting the driver with carrying heavy, bulky items safely into the customer’s room of choice.
- Basic installation: Helping to unpack items and complete basic installation or setup tasks inside the home.
- Site tidying: Removing and taking away all packaging materials, leaving the customer’s home neat and tidy.
- Teamwork: Working closely as a two-person team to handle and manoeuvre items safely.
The Reality of the Role
The items being delivered are heavy, bulky, and awkward to handle, requiring navigation through doorways and up stairs. While equipment is provided to help, this role involves consistent moving and lifting into customers’ properties throughout the 12-hour shift. Because this is a high-profile, customer-facing role, you must maintain a polite, courteous, and professional manner at all times, alongside a strong practical capability for safe manual handling.
