Kenect Recruitment is seeking a reliable and skilled Class 2 Driver to join our client's team in the Newbridge EH28 area. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial driving, with experience in various types of vehicles including box trucks and flatbeds. This role involves transporting goods safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. The Truck Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of service.
Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles for the transportation of goods
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
- Follow designated routes for deliveries while maintaining accurate logs of mileage and fuel usage
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicle to promote safety and efficiency
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL)
- Proven experience as a Class 2 driver
- Knowledge of mechanical operations of commercial vehicles is preferred
- Strong communication skills to interact with team members and clients effectively
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently to meet delivery deadlines
- Previous warehouse experience is beneficial for understanding loading/unloading processes
- Have own vehicle in order to get to the site for the start time
Hours
Ad Hoc Monday to Friday 0430-1330 £13.15 per hour, overtime available, paid weekly, PAYE
