We are currently recruiting for an experienced Operations Manager on behalf of our client to lead the operational delivery of multiple projects across North and South of Ireland. This is a key leadership role overseeing Project Managers and Site Managers, ensuring successful delivery of projects in line with company policies, procedures, and agreed targets for time, quality, safety, and cost.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operational delivery of projects across a defined geographical area.
- Lead a strong Safety First and Right First Time culture across all field operations.
- Manage civils and cabling contracts ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality delivery.
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with company standards.
- Identify and manage operational risks in collaboration with commercial teams.
- Ensure accidents, incidents, and quality issues are fully investigated with corrective actions implemented.
- Full budgetary and cost control responsibility across assigned projects.
- Manage and support direct reports including Project Managers and Site Managers.
- Set clear performance objectives and conduct regular 1:1 performance reviews.
- Carry out regular audits of field performance and service quality.
- Ensure contractual KPIs and SLAs are consistently achieved.
- Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders and delivery partners.
- Provide accurate and timely operational reports to senior management.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Minimum 10 years experience in utilities or a similar infrastructure environment (e.g. electrical distribution or civils).
- Proven experience managing operational teams and contractor partners.
- Strong civils project experience (field and office-based delivery).
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and contract understanding.
- Ability to manage budgets, KPIs, and operational performance.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and strong overall IT skills.
- Innovative, proactive, and solution-focused approach.
- Full clean UK/Ireland driving licence.
- Working knowledge of construction or engineering contracts.
