Our leading construction company is seeking an experienced and commercially focused Bid Manager to join their growing Pre-Construction team. This is an excellent permanent opportunity for a motivated professional to take ownership of tender submissions across three key divisions: Construction, Social Housing, and Fit-Out. The successful candidate will play a key role in securing new business by leading high-quality bid submissions from initial enquiry through to final tender stage.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate tender submissions from initial enquiry through to final submission stage
- Review and complete PQQs, SQs, ITTs, and framework opportunities, assessing suitability and risk
- Coordinate input from estimating, operations, commercial, design, and HSEQ teams
- Prepare, edit, and deliver high-quality written tender responses tailored to client requirements
- Manage bid programmes, deadlines, and document control throughout the submission process
- Ensure all tender submissions are compliant, accurate, and professionally presented
- Maintain and improve bid library content, case studies, staff CVs, and supporting documentation
- Identify and implement new systems and processes to improve bid efficiency
- Liaise with subcontractors and supply chain partners for pricing and technical submissions
- Support post-tender clarifications, presentations, and interview preparation
- Monitor tender portals and identify new business opportunities
- Review tender feedback and implement improvements for future submissions
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience within construction, civil engineering, infrastructure, utilities, or related sectors preferred
- Strong written communication and presentation skills
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Commercial awareness with knowledge of public and private sector procurement processes
- Strong attention to detail and document accuracy
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver high-quality submissions to tight timescales
- Good understanding of construction tendering processes and procurement routes
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years experience in a Bid Manager or similar role
- Proven experience managing the full bid/tender process
- Degree or equivalent experience in a construction-related discipline desirable but not essential
