Join a leading building management systems (BMS) specialist. Kendra Energy Solutions is looking for an experienced full‑time BMS Control Panel Technician to join our growing engineering team, covering London and the southeast.
Salary: £38,000‑£45,000 (depending on experience) + Overtime + Benefits.
This is a varied and hands‑on role. You’ll work primarily on site‑based upgrades of BMS controllers and carrying out ad hoc modifications to existing control panels and motor control centres (MCCs). Unlike a traditional workshop panel wiring position, this role focuses on modifying and upgrading existing installations, requiring strong fault‑finding skills, the ability to interpret electrical schematics, and the confidence to work independently on customer sites.
The Role
- Carrying out on‑site upgrades of BMS controllers
- Modifying existing control panels and Motor Control Centres to accommodate new BMS installations
- Wiring and terminating control equipment from schematic drawings
- Cable numbering, looming and crimping
- Electrical testing and fault finding
- Diagnosing and resolving wiring issues within existing panels
- Completing work safely and to a high standard of quality
- Producing or updating record drawings where required (AutoCAD experience advantageous)
- Working closely with commissioning engineers and project teams to deliver successful upgrades
About You
- Previous experience wiring and modifying electrical control panels
- The ability to read and interpret electrical schematic drawings
- Experience working on live site installations and panel modifications
- Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills
- A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills and a professional approach when working with customers
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent electrical qualification
- Experience within Building Management Systems (BMS), controls or industrial automation
- AutoCAD or electrical drawing experience (advantageous)
- Full UK Driving Licence
