Are you an experienced, electrically-biased Project Manager?

We’re looking for an ambitious, full-time Project Manager to join Kendra. You’ll take ownership of electrical, sub-metering and building-performance projects from sales handover through design, procurement, installation, commissioning, handover and close-out.

Combining practical electrical knowledge with strong project and commercial management, you’ll coordinate customers, engineers, subcontractors and suppliers to deliver safe, high-quality projects while protecting programme, margin and customer satisfaction.

What you'll need

  • Previous project management experience delivering electrical, controls, metering, energy or building-services projects in commercial or industrial environments.
  • A recognised electrical qualification, with a strong practical understanding of LV distribution, containment, cabling, isolation, current transformers, metering panels and safe working practices.
  • A current BS 7671 qualification. Relevant project management, construction or health and safety qualifications would be advantageous.
  • Good awareness of applicable health and safety requirements, including risk assessments, method statements, site inductions, permits and contractor management.
  • Experience taking projects from sales handover through design development, procurement, delivery, commissioning, handover and final account.
  • Ability to review drawings, specifications, surveys and construction information, identify gaps and manage technical queries or RFIs.
  • Knowledge of sub-metering systems and communications such as M-Bus, Modbus, Ethernet or wireless networks would be advantageous.
  • A good level of commercial awareness, including budgets, forecasts, applications, variations, change control and margin protection.
  • Excellent customer service, stakeholder management and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and work under pressure, independently and as part of a wider team.
  • Competence with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and project documentation systems.
  • A full UK driving licence.

What you’ll be doing

  • Managing the delivery of electrical, sub-metering and associated building-performance projects from sales handover to completion.
  • Reviewing the agreed scope, estimate, programme, customer requirements and project risks before work begins.
  • Developing the delivery plan, programme, procurement schedule, resource requirements and project controls needed for successful execution.
  • Coordinating detailed surveys and design information, including schematics, meter schedules, points lists, cable routes, panel requirements and communications architecture.
  • Reviewing construction information, raising and managing RFIs, and ensuring design decisions and scope changes are recorded.
  • Procuring meters, communication devices, electrical components, panels, field equipment, subcontract labour and specialist services in line with the project budget and programme.
  • Producing or coordinating RAMS, programmes, progress reports and other project documentation.
  • Managing engineers, installation teams and subcontractors so that work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standard.
  • Maintaining regular, clear communication with customers and internal stakeholders, including progress, decisions, dependencies, risks and required actions.
  • Monitoring cost, committed spend, forecasts, applications, variations and change control to protect project margin.
  • Identifying and communicating risks such as access restrictions, incomplete information, delays by others, supply‑chain issues or changes in site conditions.
  • Coordinating testing, commissioning and data validation so that installed systems operate as designed and accurate data reaches the intended platform.
  • Leading project handover and close‑out, including snagging, training, completion records, O&M manuals, as‑installed information and final commercial reconciliation.
  • Ensuring engineering and management tasks are completed accurately and within the agreed timescales.
  • Identifying opportunities for improvements, remedial works, upgrades, energy savings or follow‑on projects that benefit the customer and Kendra.

Health, safety and quality

  • Promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring projects are planned and delivered in accordance with Kendra procedures and customer site requirements.
  • Ensuring suitable RAMS, competencies, permits and controls are in place before work starts and remain appropriate as site conditions change.
  • Confirming that engineers and subcontractors understand the scope, hazards, quality expectations and reporting requirements.
  • Stopping or escalating work where risks are not adequately controlled or agreed standards are not being followed.
  • Completing appropriate project reviews, inspections and quality checks, and ensuring defects or non‑conformances are resolved.
  • Maintaining accurate, auditable project records throughout the delivery lifecycle.

What success looks like as our next Project Manager

  • Projects delivered safely to the agreed scope, quality, programme and customer expectations.
  • Clear control of cost, change and forecast, with project margin actively protected.
  • Technical information, procurement and resources coordinated in time to support delivery.
  • Risks, dependencies and decisions identified early, recorded and communicated to the right people.
  • Accurate commissioning, handover and project records completed without unnecessary delay.
  • Positive customer and stakeholder feedback, with effective resolution of issues and a professional experience throughout.
  • Practical follow‑on opportunities identified and handed over clearly to the relevant Kendra team.

What you’ll get

  • Competitive salary.
  • Company car or allowance.
  • Private healthcare for you and your family, including access to an online private GP.
  • Annual bonus and healthy reward scheme through the healthcare provider.
  • Long-service rewards, including additional leave after five years’ service.
  • Option to buy additional annual leave or sell unused leave.
  • Personal development plan and investment in technical, project management and personal development training.
  • Participation in the employee referral scheme.
  • A supportive team and working environment with opportunities to contribute to Kendra’s growing electrical, metering and wider building-performance offering.
