Job Purpose: To support the supervisor to carry out their duties. To provide 24 hour physical and social care for all our residents, ensuring all Kennedy care group policies and procedures are adhered to.
Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications:
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to work as part of a team and unsupervised.
- Caring and understanding nature.
- Must register with SSSC within 12 weeks.
Care:
- To provide personal and practical care services for every resident.
- To assist residents and promote dignity and independence with personal care.
- To help residents with mobility needs and other physical disabilities, including incontinence and help with any aids and personal equipment.
- To help care for residents who are dying, with dignity and respect.
- To help in the promotion of mental and physical activities of residents, through talking to them, taking them out, sharing with them in activities such as reading, writing, hobbies and recreation.
- To make and change beds, tidy bedrooms and ensuite, do light cleaning and empty and disinfect commodes.
- Ensure drawers and cupboards in bedrooms are kept in order and tidy.
- To launder residents' clothing when required.
- To set tables/trays, serve meals, assist residents who require assistance with meals, prepare light meals, such as supper and wash up, tidy and clear away waste and dishes.
- To read and write in support plans and take part in staff and residents meetings and in training activities as directed.
To conform to all policies, procedures and guidelines laid out.
