We are seeking a skilled and versatile Mobile Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and assembling a variety of mobile equipment, including excavators, dumpers, and forklifts. This role requires a strong foundation in electrical and mechanical systems, and the ability to work efficiently in diverse environments. The Mobile Fitter will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective operation of machinery across sites, providing excellent customer service and technical support.
Responsibilities:
- Plant machinery diagnostics, servicing & repair
- Hydraulic, mechanical & basic electrical fault finding
- PDI inspections & preventative maintenance
- Breakdown response (mobile/site work)
- Diggers, dumpers, rollers & telehandlers
- Trailers, vans & light commercial vehicles
- Health & Safety compliance
- Strong customer service & communication
- Repair or replace faulty electrical wiring, sensors, switches, and other components
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs performed
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures at all times
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client queries professionally during on-site visits
Experience:
- Proven experience in electrical systems, or mechanical maintenance
- Familiarity with schematics, technical drawings, and equipment repair manuals
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and specialised maintenance equipment
- Knowledge of heavy machinery such as excavators, dumpers, and forklifts is highly desirable
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience is preferred
- Previous experience working in a mobile or field service environment will be advantageous
