About the Role

We are seeking experienced and reliable Commercial Floor Layers to join a growing team. Based in Solihull, this role involves travelling across the West Midlands to work on a variety of commercial projects including schools, hospitals, and residential homes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install cap and cove flooring to hygienic standards
  • Prepare floors: uplift existing materials and dispose safely
  • Assess and prep subfloors; apply DPMs, primers, and levelling compounds
  • Measure and set out for efficient, accurate installations
  • Fit LVT, sheet vinyl, and safety flooring
  • Use correct adhesives and tools per specifications
  • Carry out repairs and patching as needed
  • Work from drawings/specs to required standards
  • Maintain high-quality finish and attention to detail
  • Follow all H&S procedures and use PPE
  • Work professionally in schools, hospitals, and residential sites
  • Keep work areas clean and organised
  • Liaise with site teams to ensure smooth delivery
  • Complete work safely, on time, and to a high standard

Essential Requirements

  • Valid Blue CSCS Card (Flooring)
  • Enhanced DBS check (due to working in schools and hospitals)
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
  • Minimum age of 25 (insurance purposes)

Desirable

  • Asbestos Awareness Certificate
  • Manual Handling Certificate
