Location: Edinburgh

Salary: £DOE

Hours: 40 Hours per week -Monday to Friday, rotating shifts: 06:00-14:30 and 08:00-16:30

On-Call: 1 week in 5 (7-day cover with 2 days off the following week)

80% Workshop 20% Administration

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Workshop Supervisor to join a well-established organisation in Edinburgh. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in commercial vehicle maintenance who is looking to step into a leadership position, overseeing workshop operations and supporting a team of skilled technicians.

The Role of Workshop Supervisor

As Workshop Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the workshop, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You will lead and support the team, manage workloads, and help maintain excellent operational performance.

Key Responsibilities of the Workshop Supervisor

  • Supervise and support workshop technicians and mobile engineers.
  • Allocate workloads and monitor productivity.
  • Ensure all maintenance and repair work is completed safely and efficiently.
  • Carry out quality checks and provide technical support where required.
  • Maintain accurate workshop records and documentation.
  • Order parts and manage workshop equipment.
  • Support performance management, training, and development of the team.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures.

What We’re Looking For in the successful Workshop Supervisor

  • Previous experience in a Workshop Supervisor or Team Leader position.
  • Background in HGV, LGV, or commercial vehicle maintenance.
  • Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent).
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
