Service Engineer

Salary
Β£38,200βΒ£42,000 OTE + Overtime
As a Service Engineer, you will play a key role in keeping our customers' machinery operating safely, reliably and efficiently. This is a varied, hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys fault-finding, problem-solving and working directly with customers.
The Role
- Servicing and maintaining JCB and other agricultural machinery to manufacturer specifications.
- Diagnosing and repairing electrical, hydraulic, mechanical and powertrain faults.
- Using manufacturer diagnostic software and laptop-based systems, full training will be provided.
- Working with GPS, telematics and machine control systems.
- Identifying machine defects and recommending additional services where appropriate.
- Completing detailed job reports, photographs and supporting documentation.
- Liaising with manufacturers' and suppliers' service departments when required.
- Providing a professional and customer-focused service at all times.
- Attending manufacturer and factory training days.
- Carrying out welding and fabrication work where required,desirable but not essential.
- Working additional hours and weekends during busy seasonal periods.
About You
- Experienced in servicing and repairing machinery, ideally within the agricultural, construction or commercial vehicle sectors.
- Ideally qualified in Land-Based Engineering or a related discipline.
- A confident fault-finder with good mechanical, hydraulic and electrical knowledge.
- Comfortable using computers and diagnostic equipment.
- Customer-focused with excellent communication skills.
- Able to manage your own workload and work effectively under pressure.
- Comfortable working independently as well as part of a team.
- Organised with good time-management skills.
- In possession of a full UK driving licence.
- Able to provide their own standard hand tools; specialist diagnostic and manufacturer tools will be provided.
