Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am β 5:00pm
Pay Rate: Β£19.00 per hour -overtime paid at x 1.5 and readily available
Must have Class 1 License
Job Overview for the Trailer Technician
We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable HGV Trailer Technician to join our busy workshop team. This is a permanent, full-time position working Monday to Friday with no weekend work required. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out inspections, servicing, maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of commercial trailers, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with DVSA regulations.
Key Responsibilities of the Trailer Technician
- Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGV trailers.
- Perform safety inspections and prepare trailers for MOT testing.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, braking, suspension, and electrical faults.
- Complete preventative maintenance and defect rectification.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate job cards and service records.
- Work independently and as part of a team to meet workshop deadlines.
- Adhere to all health and safety procedures.
Requirements of the Trailer Technician
- Previous experience as an HGV Trailer Technician, Trailer Mechanic, or similar role.
- Good knowledge of trailer braking systems, suspension, lighting, and running gear.
- Ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
