Location: West Yorkshire About the Company Our client is a leading Powered Access & Plant Hire company, supplying a comprehensive range of access equipment.
Due to continued growth and expansion, they are looking to recruit an experienced General Manager to lead the business and drive continued operational and commercial success.
The Role As General Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and performance of the business, overseeing operations, sales, fleet, transport, engineering and customer service.
You will be responsible for delivering strong financial and operational results while maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, customer service and equipment availability.
Working closely with senior management and leading a team across multiple departments, you will develop and implement strategies to support business growth, improve operational efficiency and maximise fleet utilisation and profitability.
Key Responsibilities Lead the day-to-day operation and performance of the business.
Manage and motivate teams across hire, sales, transport and engineering.
Drive revenue, fleet utilisation, profitability and business growth.
Develop strong relationships with key customers and identify new business opportunities.
Oversee fleet availability, maintenance, compliance and asset management.
Ensure all powered access & plant equipment meets LOLER, PUWER, health & safety and company requirements.
Monitor budgets, costs, KPIs and overall operational performance.
Ensure high standards of customer service, health & safety and regulatory compliance.
Recruit, develop and retain a high-performing team.
Identify and implement improvements to processes, efficiency and profitability.
Report business performance and progress to senior management.
What We're Looking For The successful candidate will have previous senior management experience within the powered access, plant hire, equipment rental, construction or a closely related industry.
You will also have: Proven experience in a General Manager, Branch Manager, Operations Manager or senior management position.
Strong knowledge of the powered access or plant hire industry.
Good understanding of LOLER and PUWER regulations and their application within a hire environment.
