About the Role
My client is a well-established and growing HGV Engineering business with over 40 years industry experience. They are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Fitter/Technician to join their busy Dumfries depot. This is a days-based role with no engine work required, ideal for a fitter with strong mechanical and fabrication skills who enjoys hands-on workshop work.
You will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and modification of HGV, Trailers, Tippers and Truck Mounted Cranes.
Key Responsibilities for the HGV Fitter/Technician:
- Maintenance and repair of HGV, Tippers, Trailers, Mounted Cranes and ancillary equipment
- Working on hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Carrying out welding and fabrication repairs (MIG / arc)
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults (non-engine related)
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard
- Maintaining a clean and organised workshop environment
- Complying with health and safety regulations
