A well-established plant hire and heavy machinery company is looking for an experienced Plant Fitter to join their busy workshop team. This role offers stable weekday hours and the opportunity to work on a wide range of heavy plant equipment in a supportive, professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintain and repair a fleet of heavy plant machinery including diggers, dumpers and excavators.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults and carry out effective repairs.
- Conduct planned preventative maintenance and routine inspections to ensure equipment safety and reliability.
- Complete service reports, job cards and all relevant paperwork accurately.
- Ensure all work is carried out to industry and health & safety standards.
- Work both independently and as part of a wider workshop team.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Plant Fitter / Plant Mechanic / Heavy Plant Engineer.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics, electrics and diesel engines.
- NVQ / City & Guilds Level 3 in Plant Maintenance, Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering (or time-served equivalent).
- Ability to diagnose faults quickly and efficiently.
- Full UK driving license.
- Reliable, self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
