About your new company:
My client is a large fleet maintenance company based in Leeds. Due to their continued growth, they are now looking for a skilled HGV Supervisor to join their ever-growing team. This role would be 50% on the tools and 50% supervisory, so it would suit someone looking to take the first step into a managerial role.
About your new HGV Supervisor role:
- You will carry out maintenance, repairs and modification work on the fleet of HGV trailers and tankers.
- Provide technical support from fault analysis through to completion.
- Supervise/Mentor less experienced Technicians.
- Assist in the fault diagnosis process.
- Comply with warranty procedures during repairs and with warranty material on completion of a repair.
- Road test vehicle when required (if holder of HGV licence).
- Ensure that all vehicle defects are reported to your workshop controller.
- Fitting pumps & meters, repairing barrels, accident damage repairs to tanker body work, fabricate components, perform tank pressure test inspections.
- You would also regularly work with hydraulics and pneumatics.
Qualifications:
- You will have an in-depth knowledge of commercial vehicles, HGV Trailers and Tankers.
- Hold an HGV licence Class 1 (essential).
- Be a fully qualified HGV Trailer/Tanker Technician with City & Guilds / NVQ level 3 in heavy vehicle maintenance and repair.
