Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic HGV Technician to join the team in Preston. This is a unique permanent days role working a 3.5-day week (Sunday-Wednesday), offering a fantastic work-life balance. You will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of a variety of commercial vehicles and trailers in a professional workshop environment with excellent personal development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake maintenance, diagnostics, and repair activities on commercial vehicles and trailers.
- Complete all associated paperwork and procedures for warranty, contract, and retail work.
- Carry out preventative maintenance to a high standard.
- Work methodically to diagnose faults and implement permanent repairs.
What You’ll Need
- A recognised Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (NVQ/City & Guilds) is essential.
- Proven experience in the diagnosis, servicing, and repair of commercial vehicles.
- A full UK driving licence (HGV licence is preferred but not essential).
- An organised, methodical approach and strong problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
