This is a hands-on management role within a small, close-knit team, offering the opportunity to take ownership of a varied area of the business. You’ll oversee parts sales and stock, e-commerce fulfilment, customer service and showroom machinery sales, while working closely with the service department to ensure customers receive the right products and parts efficiently.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the parts and machinery department
- Manage parts sales, purchasing and stock control
- Coordinate and oversee e-commerce orders and fulfilment
- Ensure customers receive accurate, knowledgeable and professional advice
- Work closely with the service department to source and supply parts efficiently
- Support showroom machinery sales and help customers select the right equipment
- Maintain effective stock levels and identify opportunities to improve availability and reduce excess stock
- Monitor sales, margins and departmental performance
- Develop efficient processes and identify opportunities to improve the customer experience
- Support and coordinate the small team, leading by example and maintaining high standards
- Build strong relationships with suppliers, customers and manufacturers
The ideal candidate
We’re looking for someone who is experienced, organised and commercially minded, with the confidence to take ownership of a department within a small business.
You’ll ideally have:
- Previous experience in a parts, automotive, agricultural or garden machinery environment
- Experience in a supervisory, management or senior parts role
- Strong knowledge of parts identification and parts catalogues
- Excellent stock control and organisational skills
- Good commercial awareness, including sales and margins
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Confidence using computerised parts, stock and e-commerce systems
- A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and make decisions
- A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to get involved where needed
Hours
Monday – Friday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
Alternate Saturdays: 8:00am – 12:00pm
