Are you ambitious, driven and looking to build a rewarding career in field sales? We are looking for a Trainee Area Sales Manager to join an expanding sales team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is motivated by targets, enjoys building relationships and wants to develop a long-term career within a successful and growing industry. You’ll receive comprehensive training on the material handling industry, products and sales processes, while working alongside experienced sales professionals who will support you throughout your development. As your knowledge and confidence grow, you’ll take increasing responsibility for your own territory, developing new business opportunities and building strong relationships with customers across the Bournemouth and surrounding areas. This role offers genuine progression, with the opportunity to develop into a fully autonomous Area Sales Manager with significant earning potential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete structured training covering technical products, including new and used forklift equipment.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within your designated territory.
  • Generate new leads through telephone, email, networking and direct business development.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing customers.
  • Shadow experienced Area Sales Managers on customer visits, learning effective sales, negotiation and closing techniques.
  • Support the management of existing customer accounts to maximise satisfaction and retention.
  • Maintain accurate records of leads, prospecting activity and customer interactions using the CRM system.
  • Work towards agreed sales targets and KPIs, with the opportunity to significantly increase earnings through performance-related commission.

You’ll ideally have:
